Hello, my name is Jocelyn Martinez! I’m writing this testimony as a letter of gratitude and testament to the magic that Lavina is and does through her meditation practice. In only 4 weeks, my mindset and approach to circumstances in my life has drastically changed and has improved my overall relationship to loving myself.
Prior to working with Lavina, I found myself allowing the fluttering thoughts of my racing mind to overwhelm me and then feeling drained when I could cope and finally overcome them. I struggled to understand what self-love looked like and felt like to me, especially as I have been transitioning into a new season of my life. It seemed as if all of my previous attempts weren’t enough for some reason.
I didn’t set any expectations for how I would feel or what this experience would look like for me. (I’m usually the type A that has expectations and goals for everything so this was a somewhat already challenging). However, I wanted to be in an open position to receive and accept whatever the journey had to offer me.
I’m a little biased in the sense that I’m not new to meditating, but I’ve found that I struggle to really get into the “Quantum,” as Lavina says, where I’m actually relaxed and have released all pressure on myself to understand how I feel and be able to describe it to others mid session. After our initial intake + 1st session, I could not believe how relaxed and grounded I felt. I could feel the inner turmoil my body felt to surrender control and be at peace, at first. Once I was comfortable enough to truly let go, it was quite surreal and tranquil. And every session we had, it only got better and deeper into the “Quantum.” There were times I noticed we were close to finishing out the session and wished we could’ve stayed in what become my “safe-place” for a few minutes longer.
As I mentioned, I felt a substantial shift in my mindset and approach to things in just 4 weeks, all emotionally, physically, mentally, etc tied. There would be small inconvenient life things that would occur that the old Jocelyn would overthink hours after it happened, but the new Jocelyn lets things go and in doing so, takes her power back.
We put so much pressure on ourselves to get thing right (small or big tasks) the first time or the 100th time but Lavina’s meditation practice has definitely helped remind me that it doesn’t matter how many times it took to do things or what the outcome was. When you have “Beginners Mind,” every time you do something, you do it for the 1st time and there’s always something valuable and worth learning from that first experience.
If you are considering meditation, flirted with the idea of it, or have already exhausted all other options in how to ground yourself, I HIGHLY recommend and encourage you to start with a conversation with Lavina. She has so much wisdom and insight to share about the ways that this simple practice has impacted her life over the years. It’s absolutely worth pursuing.
